Position summary

The CMM Programmer will develop and maintain inspection programs using customer drawings and specifications to ensure compliance to customer requirements, and have extensive knowledge of dimensional metrology. 

Essential Job Functions                                                                

  • Program various precision testing equipment including but not limited to Tool Scope, CMM, Vision Systems
  • Devise fixture concepts and participate in gage and fixture development
  • Perform basic maintenance of inspection equipment
  • Implement and analyze artifact checks for various precision testing equipment
  • Gage R&R analysis using Minitab
  • Identify and implement inspection methods and equipment to reduce cost and improve productivity
  • Complete all other work related duties as assigned
  • Perform key responsibilities of a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician and Sr. Quality Technician.
  • Enters production information into the ERP system on a timely basis
  • Accurately records and reports hours worked
  • Maintains an organized work area (5S) to include workstations, equipment, walkways, and locker rooms
  • Participates in the Operational Excellence Program
  • Understands and complies with the Cretex professional competencies, company policies, and employee manual
  • Adheres to all safety policies; includes wearing personal protective equipment when required
  • Supports and complies with the company's Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
  • Completes all other work duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements, Education & Experience (incl. KSA's and certifications)

  • Advanced knowledge of inspection equipment use and maintenance
  • Advanced level understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
  • Advanced level understanding of precision testing equipment software
  • Strong analytical skill
  • Advance verbal and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and team building skills
  • Technical writing skills
  • Organization: managing multiple requirements and deadlines
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a quality assurance role
  • Ability to read, comprehend, follow and document work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training documents
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Dexterity and hand and eye coordination
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to take direction from the area manager
  • Ability to collaborate and assist team members, provide input to the area lead, and attend and participate in meetings
  • Ability to cross train in other areas of production when required
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment

Desirable Criteria & Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001/13485
  • Quality training/certifications
  • Two-year technical degree
  • Experience with ProfitKey ERP systems
